I've been dealing with the exact same problem. I was hoping to find answers here but apparently Microsoft's own website isn't the place to look for those. If I sound salty it's because I've been sitting here for way longer than I should trying to create an email for my business instead of running my business. I'm just going to go with a more reliable service than Microsoft.

Just spent too many hours with the same issue. Nothing online to help. Microsoft has zero help on this either.

I found a workaround though:

Download the outlook app on your phone and create the account there. The app uses traditional pictures choices (ie, pick the picture containing ice cream). This worked fine for me to create an account.

Once I did that, I was able to login on my desktop as usual, no problem.

Hope that helps!

My Edge Chromium browser is up to date. My Google Chrome also. Both browsers are set to automatically update.

The problem isn't my browser. It is Microsoft's small animal figure verifier. It is too hard to perfectly align the feet of the top animal figure in a perfectly horizontal line.

They need to provide additional methods to verify including audio for the vision impaired.

My only issue with your solution is that I already have the Outlook app on my phone and it is bound to my already existing Microsoft account.

I did find a workaround. I went to a Windows 7 virtual machine and used Internet Explorer 11 to create the Outlook.com account and it let me use other verification methods. Of course, being a VM off of a server, it had no sound! But I brought up IE 11 on a physical Windows 10 computer and was able to use the sound verification method.

Still, Microsoft, you need to fix this soonest.

I had the same problem. The rotating animals puzzle does not work. However, I was using the Firefox browser, and below the picture of the robot, there is a small square button that when you hover over it, it says "Change to an audio challenge". The audio challenge that it presented was easy to solve. (I did NOT see the audio option when I was using either the Edge browser or Chrome. It only presented on Firefox.)

Hi everyone! I am having the same ridiculous issue and totally agree with all the above situations. I have been trying off and on throughout the day to create an account from a shared link but can't because I'm in Captcha Hell. I keep rotating these images that I can now barely make out because my eyes are crossing and I still get the message that one of my images are not correct. Then it seems it wants me to do it 20 times. I can't change to a different method, there is no additional support. What is going on? I have done all updates on my computer so I'm wasting my time. Does anyone know of a contact number or place where we can talk directly to customer service?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Isra, the problem is the broken animal picture verification tool. It is NOT solved.

I found a work around. If I try to use the animal picture tool it will still fail.

I should NOT have to use a deprecated browser, IE 11, to work around the broken tool.

Dave
